The following may result in a back or neck injury:

Herniated and Bulging Discs

The human spine is made up of vertebrates; in between each vertebra, there’s a soft material called a disc. When the disc ruptures, it is called a herniated disc. When the disc moves or protrudes outward, it is called a bulging disc. Herniated and bulging discs push on a nerve or compress one’s spinal cord.

When this happens, the person is left in a severe amount of pain and is at risk for permanent nerve damage and even paralysis. This pain is not limited to the site of the herniated disc but radiates throughout the body.

The intense pain caused by a herniated disc gets worse when the person isn’t treated. Any action can put pressure on the nerve causing severe pain. This limits a person from engaging in almost any activity. This can include driving, walking, exercising, golfing, playing with kids, and endless other activities. Often the only solution is surgery to repair the damaged area. If you have suffered a herniated disc due to the negligence of another, you may be entitled to compensation.

Common symptoms of herniated and bulging discs include:

  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Tingling in Hands, Fingers, Feet or Toes
  • Numbness
  • Muscle Weakness
  • Loss of Muscle Function
  • Nerve Pain

Testimonial

I was injured in a car wreck, and a relative who has been good friends with Zach since college referred me to him. Initially, the insurance company convinced me over the phone to accept $750.00, but I spoke to Zach just in time. He told me I didn’t have to accept what the insurance adjuster was telling me, and he told me what to do about the pain I was experiencing. As it turned out, I had a tear in my rotator cuff that went undiagnosed at my original hospital visit. Because I needed surgery, I missed work and racked up large hospital bills. Zach was able to get the maximum amount liability policy available from the insurance company of the person who caused the wreck, as well as money from my own insurance company because I had Underinsured Motorist coverage. What was originally a $750.00 settlement offer from the State Farm turned into almost $100,000.00.

Nerve Injury

Nerves transmit messages from the brain to the various parts of the human body. This is how your brain tells your legs to walk or your hands to grab something. Nerves also control our ability to breathe, digest food, and tell our hearts to beat.

If the nerves are damaged or injured, these functions can be limited or inhibited altogether. Our attorneys have provided years of courtroom experience to those families and individuals who have suffered nerve damage due to another person’s negligence.

Suffering a nerve injury is extremely painful and frustrating. The inability to perform simple everyday tasks can lead to depression and even suicidal thoughts. This is even more difficult to bear when the resulting injury is not your fault.

If you or a loved one has suffered nerve damage, our attorneys are here to help you in your time of need. Let our personal injury attorneys get to work for you and your family.

Seat Belt Injuries

Cars have become much safer over the year. One of the simplest inventions was the seat belt. According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, over 9,000 lives are saved every year simply because the driver was wearing their seat belt. Families across the country rely on seat belts to keep them and their loved ones safe. When a seat belt fails or malfunctions, someone often gets hurt.

Even when a seatbelt operates properly, it can cause injury. A seat belt is designed to remain loose while one is driving and lets out slack when stretched. This allows a driver to safely maneuver, stretch across the seat, adjust the air conditioning or stereo etc. When a vehicle suddenly stops, such as during an automobile collision, the driver is violently thrown around the vehicle, often times forward at a high rate of speed. This engages the locking mechanism, and the seatbelt is then prevented from allowing slack, holding the driver and passengers in place. Under the circumstances the impact after the accident causes injury (i.e., colliding with the windshield, steering wheel, or dashboard area).

A seatbelt prevents the person from being thrown around inside the vehicle or being ejected. When the seat belt fails, the person can be critically injured.

Some of the various types of injuries caused by seat belt defects and malfunctions are:

  • Broken Bones
  • Brain Damage
  • Concussions
  • Bruises
  • Lacerations
  • Head Injury
  • Internal Organ Trauma
  • Paralysis
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Herniated Discs
  • Nerve Damage
  • Wrongful Death
  • Seat Belt Burns
